Angels Are Forever
Words and Music by Alan Pedersen

They lift us up, they light the way
Our Angels walk beside us everyday
With tender hands they catch us when we fall
They teach us love and understanding are the greatest of all
Angels are forever I know without a doubt
They shine with an eternal flame that never will go out
We hold them and we love them wishing they could always stay
Angels are forever but sometimes they fly away
I loved her eyes, I adored her smile
She was my angel for a little while
There must have been important work to do
Now I lean on the love she left behind to get me through
Angels are forever I know without a doubt
They shine with an eternal flame that never will go out
We hold them and we love them wishing they could always stay
Angels are forever but sometimes they fly away
So if you have an Angel thank God every night
That you’ve been blessed with happiness
And hold your Angel tight, hold your Angel tight
We hold them and we love them wishing they could always stay
Angels are forever but sometimes they fly away
Oh but sometimes they stay

One More Yesterday

Words and Music by Alan Pedersen

I guess I should keep my eyes on the road up ahead

Keep on moving forward that’s what everybody says

The time will heal the heartache and life goes on

It’s hard to face tomorrow when all I really want is

One more yesterday, one last chance to say

I love you, I miss you since you’ve gone away

To laugh like we did back then, to see your face again

I would give anything there’s no price I wouldn’t pay

For one more yesterday

Wish I may wish I might

Wish I could have one wish tonight

Maybe someday I can live without looking back

Learn to take my comfort from those moments that we had

And let go of that part of me always wishing there was more

Until that day finds me I’ll be longing for

One more yesterday, one last chance to say

I love you, I miss you since you’ve gone away

To laugh like we did back then, to see your face again

I would give anything there’s no price I wouldn’t pay

For one more yesterday

I Remember You

Words and Music by Alan Pedersen

A shooting star goes by

A soft rain might fall

A child at play a baby’s cry

Sometimes it don’t take much at all

And I remember you I remember you

Your smile your face

The way you moved

And I can see you dancing

I can hear you laugh

Anything and everything

Can take me back

It who I am it’s what I love to do

Ya I remember you

When the world is still in a crowd somewhere

Raindrops on my window a teddy bear

Well I’ve got pictures and videos

And I see them all the time

But my favorite memories well they’re right here in my mind

I can see you dancing I can hear you laugh

Anything and everything can take me back

It who I am it’s what I love to do

Ya I remember you

Yes I remember you

Hide-N-Seek

Words and Music by Alan Pedersen

We played that game so many times when she was growing up

It seemed like she could play forever, never get enough

She’d say Daddy do you want to hide or do you want to seek

Close your eyes and count to ten, Daddy don’t you peek

One, two, three, four I could hear her run

Five, six, seven, eight we were having so much fun

Nine, ten ready or not and there I’d go

Like so many times before searching everywhere I know

I’d look over in the corner, underneath the stairs

Behind the closet door, next to my chair

All her usual hiding places one at a time

I’d keep on searching till I would find that little girl of mine

I’m staring out the window on this cold and rainy night

There’s no sign of her anywhere in sight

I think about that game we played the good times that we had

Wishing she was here tonight and feeling sad

One, two, three, four I could hear her run

Five, six, seven, eight we were having so much fun

Nine, ten ready or not and there I’d go

Like so many times before searching everywhere I know

I’d look over in the corner, underneath the stairs

Behind the closet door, next to my chair

All her usual hiding places one at a time

I’d keep on searching till I would find that little girl of mine

Sometimes when I lie here as dark gives way to dawn

I pray she’s only hiding and she’s not really gone

I’d look over in the corner, underneath the stairs

Behind the closet door, next to my chair

All her usual hiding places just one last time

I keep on searching wishing I would find that little girl of mine

A Long Hard Fall

She loved the way the leaves dance on the wind in late September

It was her favorite time of year

She said that fall reminded her how everything must change

She was right cause nothing is the same without her here

And when September comes around I’ll find my way somehow

But there is just too much to do to think about that now

If I can get through August

I just might make it after all

If I can get through August

Maybe I can face the long hard fall

I loved the way she’d lose herself in the colors of October

When green would turn to gold then brown

She said it was a perfect time for picking up the pieces

With memories of summer lying scattered on the ground

Outside my window I can feel it in the air

Autumn is so far away I wonder if she’s there

Sometimes I close my eyes and my mind drifts back in time

To long ago and far away…and that season she was mine

If I can get through August

I just might make it after all

If I can get through August

Maybe I can face the long hard fall

A Talk With God

Words and Music by Alan Pedersen

Dear God, I just had to talk with you

I’ve been knocked down and out and I don’t know what to do

I’ve been searching for answers that I just can’t find

When I take my anger out on you I pray that you don’t mind

I lost my baby now my world is torn apart

Would you help me pick the pieces up of my broken heart

I need just a little hope when faith is hard to recognize

And God please God dry the tears from my eyes

I know I haven’t always kept in touch

God I’m not really asking you for all that much

Just a little piece of mind, a solid rock to hold on to

Most importantly there’s something I need you to do

Take care of my baby, hold her gently in your arms

Give her all the love I can’t, keep her safe from harm

Let her know I miss the tender magic in her smile

Give me a sign that she’s doing fine once in a while

God I still believe you’re everywhere

I know you love me when I haven’t got a prayer

Let me just ask you for one more thing before I end

Bless those parents who share my pain

Amen, Amen

Where I Am

Words and Music by Alan Pedersen

When you see a bright sun shining that sets your heart aglow

It’s just me saying I love you the only way I know

When the colors of a rainbow take your breath away

Close your eyes and know I’m with you everyday

I’m in your heart, I’m on the wind

I’m where you’re going, where you’ve been

I’m right beside you, take my hand

The fragrant rose, the air you breathe, the gentle rustling of the leaves

Where you are is where I am

Where I am, where I am

When you hear the birds singing somewhere on the blue

The melody you’re hearing is my song to you

When a thousand stars are shining across a painted sky

The brightest one is me looking in your eyes

I’m in your heart, I’m on the wind

I’m where you’re going, where you’ve been

I’m right beside you, take my hand

The fragrant rose, the air you breathe, the gentle rustling of the leaves

Where you are is where I am

Where I am, where I am

I’m in your heart, I’m on the wind

I’m where you’re going, where you’ve been

I’m right beside you, take my hand

The fragrant rose, the air you breathe, the gentle rustling of the leaves

Where you are is where I am

Where I am, where I am

When you see a bright sun shining that sets your heart aglow

It’s just me saying I love you the only way I know

Stronger Than You Know

Words and Music by Alan Pedersen

You know it’s true in every life some rain is bound to fall

I’ve learned you stand the most to gain when you think you’ve lost it all

There are just two choices you can stay down on the floor

Or take a look inside yourself and reach for something more

If you aim high, dig deep

Work like you’ve never worked because you’re playing for keeps

You’ve got to hold on so you can let go

In your hour of weakness you are stronger than you know

There’s no shame with falling down, it happens all the time

God always leaves a ladder so don’t be afraid to climb

There’s still a bright tomorrow if you’ll look for the light

Give yourself your best shot you’re gonna be alright

If you aim high, dig deep

Work like you’ve never worked because you’re playing for keeps

You’ve got to hold on so you can let go

In your hour of weakness you’re stronger than you know

No it won’t come easy good things seldom do

Trust your heart a brand new start is waiting there for you

If you aim high, dig deep

Work like you’ve never worked because you’re playing for keeps

You’ve got to hold on so you can let go

In your hour of weakness you’re stronger than you know

Yes in your hour of weakness you are stronger than you know

In your hour of weakness you are stronger than you know

Stronger than you know

Stronger than you know

Stronger than you know

In your hour of weakness you are stronger than you know

Guardian Angel

Words and Music by Alan Pedersen and Barry Ebert

I saw an angel coming for you

I know it sounds crazy but I swear it’s true

She brought wings for your soul and you were gone

We barely said hello

And you left us here with our hearts all broken

But I know you’d want us to keep them open

Cause you’ve found your way back home

And all is well

Our guardian angel that’s what you are

You live in our hearts like a shining star

We’ll never forget you and wherever we go

You will be

You’ll be our guardian angel

We never know what life has in store

There’s the little we see but there’s so much more

And we can’t understand

Why there’s so much pain and sorrow

But you left a gift when you flew away

And we must unwrap it day by day

And treasure this love

That will still be here tomorrow

Our guardian angel that’s what you are

You live in our hearts like a shining star

We’ll never forget you and wherever we go

You will be

You’ll be our guardian angel

The Tattoo

Words and Music by Alan Pedersen

Pardon me if I’m nervous you see this is my first one

I’m not into tattoos I swore I’d never get one

She thought they were hip she said Dad they’re cool

I’ll bet she’s smiling down tonight to see me breaking my rule

It’s been one year today since she’s been gone

No I don’t need to wait I know just what I want

Draw me an Angel in heavenly flight

With a dove on the left and her name on the right

Hair flowing gently in ribbons and bows

With three stars, two hearts and one rose

And I’ll wear it proudly and I’ll show it off

Just because she is gone my love doesn’t stop

If anyone asks I’ll be glad to explain just how much I miss her

And how the memories remain

Yah, I’ve thought about it and I’m sure I want all of these things

They remind me of her

Draw me an Angel in heavenly flight

With a dove on the left and her name on the right

Hair flowing gently in ribbons and bows

With three stars, two hearts and one rose

Never say never I’ve learned the hard way

I never thought I’d be sitting here today

Talking with you about all the good years

Now don’t get me started and don’t mind my tears

Draw me an Angel in heavenly flight

With a dove on the left and her name on the right

Hair flowing gently in ribbons and bows

With three stars, two hearts and one rose

Three stars, two hearts and one rose

Daddy Smile

Words and Music by Alan Pedersen

I sat here in my easy chair the other night like so many times before

Staring at her picture

Feeling sorry for myself again thinking about how hard life’s been

And how much I miss her

All of a sudden it was almost like a dream

She stepped out of that picture frame and sat right next to me

She said Dad I think it’s time we had a little conversation

A heart to heart just you and me

Daddy every day I look at you and what do I see

You’re crying when you’re looking back at me

That was ok for a while but you know Daddy

I miss your smile

Don’t cry for what can never be, thank God for what we had

And when you think about me now be happy don’t be sad

Don’t you know I’m still your little girl and that’s what I’ll always be

Now don’t forget when you remember me Daddy smile

She stayed until the morning sun came up

There’s so much she had to say so I just listened

She said Daddy how I long to hear you laugh again

It’s okay with me, so Daddy laugh again

The best thing you can do for me is do the best for you

I left you all of my memories to help you make it through

Daddy you’ve got so much to give start giving

You’ll always be my sunshine even when it rains

And Daddy I want you to start living

Let go Daddy let go of the pain

I’ve got to go now I’ll see you in a while

But until then daddy smile

Don’t cry for what can never be, thank God for what we had

And when you think about me now be happy don’t be sad

Don’t you know I’m still your little girl and that’s what I’ll always be

Now don’t forget when you remember me Daddy smile

I was sitting in my easy chair this morning

Staring at her picture she’s so beautiful

She makes me smile

Yah she makes her Daddy smile

Yah she makes me smile

Yes she does, she makes her Daddy smile

Yes she does, she still makes her Daddy smile

Learning to Lean on Love

Words and Music by Alan Pedersen

Copyright 2003/EverAshley Music

I’m learning to lean on love

Learning to lean on love

When the night is long my faith is strong

When the road I’m walking gets too rough

I’m learning to lean on love

It’s the hope that guides me

On a raging sea

It’s the light that searches for the better part of me

Sets me free

I’m learning to lean on love

Learning to lean on love

When the night is long my faith is strong

When the road I’m walking gets too rough

I’m learning to lean on love

It’s the voice reminding me I’m never on my own

It’s the greater than I am so I’m not alone

I’m not alone

I’m learning to lean on love

Learning to lean on love

When the night is long my faith is strong

When the road I’m walking gets too rough

I’m learning to lean on love

Learning to lean on love

Learning to lean on love
